The study is published today in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
New research published in the February 2015 issue of The FASEB Journal details a test developed using mice that can help measure two important aspects of retinal health-the function of retinal blood vessels and light-detecting cells. This approach opens new possibilities for understanding the molecular changes that occur in retinal disease and for evaluating the benefits of treatment early in the course of disease.
"Now that the health care bill is law, an array of groups - representing doctors, insurers, small businesses and others - have switched to their post-passage game plans. Among their top goals: Helping shape the all-important regulations being written by the Obama administration," according to Kaiser Health News/The Washington Post.
Physicians will now have access to Cook Medical's Word catheter, a silicone balloon catheter used to treat cysts of the Bartholin gland, company officials announced today.
Sequoia Hospital announced that the Cardiac Arrhythmia Program has completed 1,000 atrial fibrillation (A-Fib) ablation procedures, making it the highest total volume A-Fib ablation institution currently performing ablations in Northern and Central California.
