Researchers looked at the positive and negative effects of the early or late school start time on sleep quality and duration of adolescents. Their study titled, "Association of Delaying School Start Time With Sleep Duration, Timing, and Quality Among Adolescents," was published in the latest issue of the journal JAMA Pediatrics.
According to a new study hormone therapy may not be as risky for elder women as earlier thought. This comes from the Women's Health Initiative, a federally funded trial that tracked thousands of women taking hormones or placebo pills for years. The WHI looked at women who have had hysterectomies or have had their uterus removed and thus can take estrogen unaccompanied by another hormone, progestin. It found that a heightened risk of stroke from taking estrogen faded with time, while a reduced risk of breast cancer held steady.

The research in college-age participants suggests that while men do think about sex more often than women, the subject crosses their mind an average of only about 19 times per day, compared to 10 times per day for women. The study is published online and in the January print issue of the Journal of Sex Research.
