Researchers at the University of Iowa have created a bio patch to regenerate missing or damaged bone by putting DNA into a nano-sized particle that delivers bone-producing instructions directly into cells.
OSI Systems, Inc., a vertically-integrated provider of specialized electronic products for critical applications in the Security and Healthcare industries, today announced that its Healthcare division, Spacelabs Healthcare, received a $1.8 million order from a southern Louisiana hospital to provide its patient monitoring solution and ICS G2 enterprise connectivity software.
Citing data on how HIV/AIDS has affected children worldwide, whether directly or through the death of one or both parents, U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator Ambassador Eric Goosby, who also heads the State Department's Office of Global Health Diplomacy, writes in the agency's "DipNote" blog that children are vulnerable "to the social, emotional, economic, and environmental effects that HIV and AIDS has on families, communities, and countries."
The University Hospital of Zurich has become the first medical center in the world to commence treating cancer patients with the revolutionary TrueBeam system from Varian Medical Systems, a new platform for image-guided radiotherapy and radiosurgery that was designed from the ground up to treat a moving target with unprecedented speed and precision.
