Research led by specialists at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center has found that teenage boys who hold some traditional beliefs about what it means to be a "real man" can undermine their sexual health and good preventive care in general.
The National Institute on Aging, or NIA, has awarded psychologists Chandra A. Reynolds of the University of California, Riverside, and Sally J. Wadsworth of the University of Colorado-Boulder a grant of more than $11 million to continue studying lifespan behavioral development and cognitive aging as individuals transition to mid-adulthood.
More than 90 million Americans can sigh comfortably because of new relief for their bad breath. Dental experts today revealed research highlighting a new treatment option that can eliminate halitosis or chronic bad breath at the Academy of General Dentistry's (AGD) 53rd Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
Malfunctioning bone marrow cells that produce insulin appear to cause a dangerous nerve condition called neuropathy that disables many people with diabetes, said a research team led by Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston.
There is a long-established and widely recognized link between declines in sensory acuity - particularly hearing and vision - and cognition. Data from the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging, involving tens of thousands of participants across the country aged 45 to 85, backs this up.
