A new study by Pediatrix Medical Group researchers has found that the implementation of a quality improvement intervention significantly reduces the use of a large number of medications in premature babies across a broad neonatal intensive care network.
Two new studies presented Wednesday at the Radiological Society of North America's annual conference in Chicago find that eating plenty of fish and not playing violent video games can keep a person's brain healthy.
Lecithin, a natural emulsifier commonly used in processed foods, synergistically enhances the antimicrobial properties of the natural essential oil, eugenol, but only when applied in very small quantities. The research is published in Applied and Environmental Microbiology, a journal of the American Society for Microbiology.
The World Health Organization and partners are calling for an end to the discrimination, harassment and lack of respect that hinder midwives' ability to provide quality care to women and newborns.
New research from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem shows that the most common form of white blood cells, called neutrophils, contain many different subtypes, of which some fight the development of cancer and others promote its progression. The research could help pave the way to new therapies that fight cancer by increasing anti-tumor neutrophils while limiting pro-tumor neutrophils.
