It won't tackle global carbon emissions yet, but a new technology from Australia's national science agency, CSIRO, has found a way to pull carbon dioxide (CO2) out of the atmosphere and put it into beer and other beverages.
On Jan. 20, 2010, two healthy babies, one boy and one girl, were successfully delivered at the Canadian/Norwegian Red Cross field hospital in Port-au-Prince. They were born within 90 minutes of the magnitude 6 aftershock that struck earlier that morning.
More than a third of British women in their 20s smoke, and the rate, despite aggressive campaigns against smoking, has only decreased slightly in the past five years. One in seven couples experience problems conceiving, and, in cases involving female infertility, no specific cause can be found in 20 per cent of cases.
The first large, population-based study to follow children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) into adulthood shows that ADHD often doesn't "go away," and that children with ADHD are more likely to have other psychiatric disorders as adults. Although numbers were small, they also appear more likely to commit suicide and are often incarcerated as adults.
