A doctoral student at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) has been awarded two research fellowships to study the spread of E. coli, a hard-to-treat bacterium that can lead to food poisoning.
Significantly more pre-menopausal women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) reported a clinically meaningful improvement in their condition with flibanserin 100mg compared with placebo, according to new research announced today. Flibanserin is an investigational, non-hormonal treatment being developed by Boehringer Ingelheim for pre-menopausal women with HSDD.
Despite dramatically improved survival rates for childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia, relapse remains a leading cause of death from the disease. Work led by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital investigators identified mutations in a gene named CREBBP that may help the cancer resist steroid treatment and fuel ALL's return.
Researchers at Children's Hospital Boston report that an enzyme known as Mst3b, previously identified in their lab, is essential for regenerating damaged axons (nerve fibers) in a live animal model, in both the peripheral and central nervous systems.
