Scientists at the University of Maryland School of Medicine's Center for Vaccine Development are part of nationwide vaccine research aimed at protecting adults from a new and virulent strain of avian (bird) influenza (flu) virus.
Epeius Biotechnologies announced today the results of Phase I/II and II studies of Rexin-G in chemotherapy-resistant metastatic soft tissue sarcoma and osteosarcoma, as presented by Dr. Sant P. Chawla, principal investigator, at the CTOS 14th annual meetings held in London UK on November 13-15, 2008.
Compared with a group of healthy study participants, adults with sickle cell anemia showed poorer performance on neurocognitive tests, which was associated with anemia and age, according to a study in the May 12 issue of JAMA.
Transgenic Huntington's disease monkeys display a full spectrum of symptoms resembling the human disease, ranging from motor problems and neurodegeneration to emotional dysregulation and immune system changes, scientists at Yerkes National Primate Research Center, Emory University report.
