Cytheris SA, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on research and development of new therapies for immune modulation, today announced that it has begun enrolling patients in INSPIRE 3, a Phase II clinical program evaluating the effect of repeated cycles of the company's investigative immune-modulator, recombinant human Interleukin-7 (CYT107), in the treatment of chronically HIV-1 infected patients classified as Immunological Non-Responders (INR) after at least 24 months of highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART).
New data published by researchers at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute suggests that an oral drug currently used in the clinical setting to treat neuromuscular diseases could also help prevent a common form of skin cancer caused by damage from ultraviolet-B (UVB) radiation from the sun.
Labopharm Inc. today announced it has settled the previously announced draw down of $1 million under its standby equity distribution (SEDA) with YA Global Master SPV Ltd. (YA). Under the draw down, Labopharm issued 482,165 of its common shares to YA at a price of $2.07 per common share, net of the applicable discount. (All currency figures are in Canadian dollars.)
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded a five-year grant in the amount of $8.2 million to the SUNY Research Foundation in support of the Developmental Exposure Alcohol Research Center (DEARC), an alcohol research center led by Binghamton University.
