Nile Therapeutics, Inc. a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of novel therapeutics for cardiovascular disease, today announced results of its Phase 2 study evaluating its lead compound CD-NP in patients with acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) and mild to moderate renal insufficiency. Study results demonstrated that multiple doses were characterized as well tolerated with favorable drug activity in this acute patient population.
Saint Louis University has received a three-year, $460,000 grant from the Maternal Child and Family Health Coalition (MCHFC) and St. Louis Mental Health Board to expand efforts to detect and treat postpartum depression in new mothers.
The research, by Dr Jonathan Skinner from Queen's University Belfast, reveals the social, mental and physical benefits of social dancing for older people. It suggests that dancing staves of illness, and even counteracts decline in ageing.
From testing drugs to developing vaccines, the close study of the immune system is key to improving real-world health outcomes. T-cells are integral to this research, as these white blood cells help tailor the body's immune response to specific pathogens.
European researchers have found viruses in nearly 40% of more than 1,400 bathing water samples gathered from coastal and inland areas in nine countries, including Spain.
