AstraZeneca and Galderma Pharma S.A., a global speciality pharmaceutical company focused on dermatology, today announced they have entered into a R&D collaboration to develop new treatments for dermatological conditions including psoriasis, acne and atopic dermatitis which significantly affect the health and quality of life for millions of people worldwide.
Having recently discovered a set of powerful gene regulators that control cell identity in a few mouse and human cell types, Whitehead Institute scientists are now showing that these regulators-which they named "super-enhancers"-act across a vast array of human cell types and are enriched in mutated regions of the genome that are closely associated with a broad spectrum of diseases.
With large companies facing potential fines next year for not offering health insurance, some are looking at approaches such as enrolling employees in Medicaid, reports The Wall Street Journal. Meanwhile, the federal government posts a notice Tuesday saying that it will continue to fund an optional health insurance program for the working poor in 2016.
