A $1.5 million grant from the National Institutes of Health will advance work by Indiana University researchers that seeks to identify Americans at risk for diabetes and other metabolic disorders based on their exposure to trace minerals in the environment.

A recent study by Teri L. Hernandez, PhD, RN and Robert H. Eckel, MD, at the University of Colorado School of Medicine have found that the fat eventually returns within one year, and is redistributed to other areas of the body, especially the upper abdomen.
Breathlessness and conditions of restrictive lung disease (RLD), such as pulmonary fibrosis, may be a late complication of type 2 diabetes.
Topera, Inc., a medical device company that has developed a novel mapping and targeting system for the identification of the sources that sustain complex cardiac arrhythmias, today announced that it has received 510(k) clearance by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the FIRMap Catheter.
Over a quarter of adults aged 50+ are deficient in vitamin D according to researchers from Trinity College Dublin who announced their findings today (Thursday, June 13th).
