A French-Italian team headed by researchers from CNRS and Inserm has discovered a new family of compounds that could make it possible to treat numerous cancers, particularly brain tumors and skin cancers.
Scientists are reporting discovery of a potential new drug for epidemic keratoconjunctivitis (EKC) - sometimes called "pink eye" - a highly infectious eye disease that may occur in 15 million to 20 million people annually in the United States alone. Their report describing an innovative new "molecular wipe" that sweeps up viruses responsible for EKC appears in ACS's Journal of Medicinal Chemistry.
At the end of May 2011, two "business angels" and a banking institute invested one million Swiss francs in Michael Sauter's company -compliant concept-. The successful end to this first round of financing is a milestone for the mechanical engineer and young entrepreneur. "This means that the intelligent bed can now become a reality," he says, joyfully.
Look Good Feel Better, the global cancer support program, today shared the results of its third annual global survey of program participants.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness is providing a new dimension to its Hearts & Minds initiative, an educational program that promotes "mind and body" health practices for individuals who live with mental illness.
