Researchers have discovered that heart disease caused by genetic mutations account for significantly fewer sudden and unexplained deaths of infants than previously reported.
In experiments with mice, Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center scientists have identified an enzyme involved in the regulation of immune system T cells that could be a useful target in treating asthma and boosting the effects of certain cancer therapies.
All cells decompose with time. But some cells are better than others to postpone the decomposing and thus delay ageing and eventually death. And there are even organisms that are capable of regenerating and thereby repair damaged cells.
A new analysis indicates that not obtaining a medication the first time it is prescribed-called initial medication non-adherence-is common among patients within the Catalan health system in Spain.
Physicians and researchers at John Theurer Cancer Center at HackensackUMC, one of the nation's top 50 cancer centers, will present the latest findings in blood-cancer research at the 2012 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting in Chicago on June 1-5. Their involvement in these studies is part of John Theurer Cancer Center's continued focus to bolster its research program.
