Liverpool's Spire Hospital is using a new technology to heal chronic wounds.
Virginia Commonwealth University has received a five-year, $3 million grant to study how adverse experiences such as severe illnesses, neglect and maltreatment during childhood leave molecular marks in DNA that predict health risks later in life.
C. R. Bard, Inc. today announced the publication of trial results by The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) showing the Bard FLAIR® Endovascular Stent Graft maintains the patency of dialysis access grafts more effectively than balloon angioplasty alone. The FLAIR® Endovascular Stent Graft is the only implant approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for use in the treatment of stenoses at the venous anastomosis of ePTFE or other synthetic arteriovenous access grafts.
Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited today announced results from the phase 3 VISIBLE 1 clinical trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of an investigational subcutaneous formulation of the gut-selective biologic vedolizumab for maintenance therapy in adult patients with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis who achieved clinical response* at week 6 following two doses of open-label vedolizumab intravenous induction therapy.
Meta-iodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) therapy is now offered by Hematology/Oncology/Blood and Marrow Transplant at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Patients with neuroblastoma who qualify for treatment with MIBG therapy can be treated in this new facility, with round-the-clock supervision by specially trained staff through video and audio monitoring.
