Mathematical models analyzing how a cholera outbreak spread in Zimbabwe are providing new insights into the most effective vaccination strategies for preventing future cholera epidemics, according to University of Florida researchers.
The night before her surgery for tongue cancer, 30-year-old Lisa Bourdon-Krause realized she might never be able to speak to her toddler son again. Masimo announced today that a new clinical study demonstrating the clinical accuracy of its noninvasive and continuous hemoglobin (SpHb®) monitoring technology breakthrough was presented last week at the Society for Technology in Anesthesia (STA) Annual Meeting.
The first European study into the burden of non-tuberculosis mycobacterium pulmonary disease (NTM-PD), published today in the European Respiratory Journal, has revealed that both the 3-year all-cause mortality rate and financial burden for patients with the disease is almost four times higher than a matched control group.
