As typical social and academic interaction screeched to a halt last year, many young people began experiencing declines in mental health, a problem that appeared to be worse for those whose connections to family and friends weren't as tight, a new study has found.
Patients with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) typically suffer from impaired bone quality and quantity, with a non-vertebral fracture risk which is 4-to 6-fold higher than the fracture risk of matched controls. However, despite their high risk of fragility fractures, the vast majority of patients with chronic CKD stages 4 to 5D, are not receiving osteoporosis therapy.
Novozymes Biopharma DK A/S, a subsidiary of Novozymes A/S, a world leader in bioinnovation, has announced that its albumin-based VELTIS half-life extension technology is being used by GlaxoSmithKline in the recently authorized Eperzan (albiglutide) for the treatment of type 2 diabetes in Europe.
