Legislation passed in Texas this year will, effective September 1, 2009, amend Texas law governing physician alternative practice sites, such as retail-based Convenient Care clinics. In a national survey of practicing family physicians, pediatricians, internists and surgeons, the majority reported that their training in chronic care medicine was too thin overall to meet the demands of their practices.
