In experiments with mice, Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center scientists have identified an enzyme involved in the regulation of immune system T cells that could be a useful target in treating asthma and boosting the effects of certain cancer therapies.

Nearly 20 percent of Americans have a disability, yet only 25 percent of medical schools include in their curricula caring for people with disabilities. Numerous reports have documented that people with disabilities have poorer health and receive inferior care.
In the wake of today's new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) stating that autism now affects 1% or 1 in every 110 American children, Autism Speaks, North America's largest autism science and advocacy organization, called on the U.S. government to immediately step up its efforts - and dramatically increase funding - to address the growing global autism public health crisis.
