Innate Immune, Inc., a privately held biotechnology company, today announced that it has granted to Cephalon Australia Pty Ltd an exclusive license to patents for the development of its antibodies for the treatment of asthma and systemic lupus erythematosis (SLE).
In order to help people with fear of childbirth, there must be trust between the patient and the healthcare staff. But for many lesbian and bisexual women and transgender people, this trust never develops. These are the results of a study in the journal Midwifery from researchers at Linköping University.
The University of Michigan's Monitoring the Future study (MTF) – the largest survey on teen drug abuse tracking over 46,000 8th, 10th and 12th graders – found a huge falloff in teens' recalled exposure to drug abuse prevention messages over the past seven years. The new data from the MTF study have been released at a time when teens themselves report finding the drug-prevention messages to be effective.
PrimeDoc Management Services, Inc., an Asheville-based, physician owned company that specializes in the establishment, staffing, and management of turnkey hospitalist programs, has launched a private-practice hospitalist program at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
Although effective treatments for smoking cessation exist, and research has shown that patients who receive smoking cessation treatment are twice as likely to quit - limited insurance coverage, poor adherence to practice guidelines, lack of clinician training in smoking cessation, time constraints and inadequate clinic systems to easily identify and treat smokers have limited the availability and quality of smoking cessation treatment.
