Herpes virus present within the body long after the overt infection may play a role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease say researchers. The study titled, "Multiscale Analysis of Independent Alzheimer's Cohorts Finds Disruption of Molecular, Genetic, and Clinical Networks by Human Herpesvirus" appeared in the latest issue of the journal Neuron, this Thursday.
Forest Laboratories, Inc. and Almirall, S.A. today announced positive topline results from AUGMENT COPD, the second six-month pivotal phase III clinical trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of investigational fixed dose combinations of aclidinium bromide and formoterol fumarate, delivered in the Pressair (Genuair outside the USA) inhaler.
High chairs and booster seats are commonly used to help make feeding young children easier. Although most parents assume these products are safe, millions have been recalled in recent years, and injuries associated with their use continue to occur.
The Medicare prescription drug benefit will cost $30 billion in 2006, a 30% decrease from a previous estimate of $43 billion, according to CMS, the AP/Houston Chronicle reports (Freking, AP/Houston Chronicle, 11/29).
