A major new study, "Red Meat Consumption and Mortality" concludes that red meat is associated with a thirteen percent increased risk of death and substitution of other healthy protein sources for red meat lowers mortality risk, with nuts being the top choice. Over half the nuts eaten in the US are peanuts and they have more protein than any other nut.
Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced the presentation of research that provides further insight into the clinical consequences of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), and positive impact of SolirisĀ® (eculizumab) therapy on long-term outcomes.
Although immunity to mumps is high in the United States, mumps vaccine coverage must be maintained and improved to prevent future outbreaks, according to a new study, now available online (http://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/full/10.1086/655394), in the September 1, 2010 issue of The Journal of Infectious Diseases.
People suffering from exercise-induced asthma were able to reduce their symptoms below the threshold used to diagnose the disease by eating a diet supplemented with fish oil, according to new research findings from Indiana University reported in the January issue of the journal Chest.
In a study of adults with asthma, active individuals had slightly less lung function decline than inactive individuals.
