Two studies from Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center researchers add to preliminary evidence that high-dose radiation treatment, called stereotactic body radiotherapy, appears to be safe and as effective as standard radiation treatment for certain patients with pancreatic cancer whose tumors are advanced but have not spread.
Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced the completion of its previously-announced public offering and concurrent private placement of its common stock, resulting in net proceeds to Lexicon of approximately $181.4 million after the exercise in full by the underwriters of their over-allotment option and by Invus, L.P., Lexicon's largest stockholder, of its associated right to purchase additional shares.
The proportion of Medicare patients experiencing continuity of care between outpatient and inpatient settings decreased substantially between 1996 and 2006, with decreases occurring in all areas of the country and in all types of hospitals, according to a study in the April 22/29 issue of JAMA, the Journal of the American Medical Association.
