New research from The Scripps Research Institute may give scientists a chance to target tumors before they metastasize.
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has been selected as one of the top work environments for technology specialists in the United States by Computerworld, a leading national publication devoted to information technology. A combination of the kinase-inhibitor drug cabozantinib and the immunotherapy drug nivolumab can make curative surgery possible in some liver cancer patients who would normally not be considered surgery candidates.
Durata Therapeutics, Inc. today announced preliminary, top-line results for its DISCOVER 1 ("Dalbavancin for Infections of the Skin COmpared to Vancomycin at an Early Response") Phase 3 study of dalbavancin, which is under investigation for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI) caused by susceptible gram-positive bacteria, including MRSA (methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus).
Investigators from Dartmouth's Norris Cotton Cancer Center led by James Moseley, PhD have found that the protein Pom1 possesses the ability to modify different sets of proteins to coordinate the processes of cell growth and division.
