A simple vision test performed on the sidelines may help determine whether athletes have suffered a concussion, according to a study released today that will be presented at the American Academy of Neurology's 66th Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, April 26 to May 3, 2014.
UK scientists have found a naturally occurring molecule in the body which may have important consequences for treating osteoarthritis. Researchers from The University of Manchester and the University of Westminster have found that the molecule, known as Urocortin, protects cells in the joints from being destroyed.
A collaborative team centered in the University of California, Irvine and including Children's Hospital Orange County and Chapman University has been awarded a three-year grant totaling in excess of $2.3 million, to address the health impacts of adverse childhood experiences using precision medicine.
With their French colleagues, researchers at the University of Helsinki have found a mechanism in the memory centre of newborn that adjusts the maturation of the brain for the information processing required later in life. The study was published this week in an American science magazine The Journal of Neuroscience.
The University of Indianapolis will break ground June 19 on a four-story, $28 million Health Pavilion that will house UIndy's healthcare- and wellness-related academic programs as well as industry partners and clinical facilities to serve the community.
