A study revealed at the ESC Congress 2019 held in Paris last weekend reveals that abnormal microbe population in the body may lead to impairment of the stable coronary plaques and lead them to be dislodged leading to a heart attack. The abstract titled, "A different microbial signature in plaque and gut of patients presenting with ACS: a possible role for coronary instability" was presented on the 31st of August 2019.
"A senior Taliban commander has effectively banned polio eradication in one of the most troubled areas of the Pakistan frontier in an effort to force the U.S. to end drone strikes," the Guardian reports. "Leaflets distributed in South Waziristan on behalf of Mullah Nazir, the leader of the Federally Administered Tribal Agencies (Fata), accused health workers who administer anti-polio drops of being U.S. spies" and "questioned the sincerity of international efforts to tackle the highly infectious disease," the newspaper adds.
The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) will announce the results of a survey conducted with Dermik Laboratories, a business of sanofi-aventis U.S. LLC, which found that 53 percent of women who are considering facial plastic surgery say the economy has affected their decision to move forward with anti-aging procedures or treatment options. As a result, slightly more than 30 percent of women considering facial plastic surgery in the near future have looked for less costly procedures or treatment alternatives. The survey will be presented today at the Academy's Annual Fall meeting and will be available on a live Web cast at www.aafprs.org.
