Epileptic seizures occur when neurons in the brain become excessively active. However, a new study from MIT neuroscientists suggests that some seizures may originate in non-neuronal cells known as glia, which were long believed to play a mere supporting role in brain function.
Currently intraoperative monitoring using somatosensory evoked potentials has been widely recognized to prevent iatrogenic spinal cord injury. Previous studies only reported the monitoring effects of somatosensory evoked potentials after mechanical factors-caused spinal cord injury.
The SR101 N-(3-[18F]Fluoropropyl) sulfonamide ([18F]SRF101) is a Sulforhodamine 101 derivative that was previously synthesized by our group.
In February 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Palforzia, the first peanut powder product designed to help reduce the risk of severe peanut-induced allergic reactions through desensitization over time.
