New technology developed at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital may extend the benefits of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to many patients whose access to MRI is currently limited.
A new report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) that finds "extraordinary price increases" for brand-name drug products from 2000 – 2008 was largely fueled by the "lack of therapeutically equivalent drugs" and "limited competition," underscores the need for policymakers to promote policies in health reform which increase competition and lower costs, the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) said today.
HIV wreaks much of its damage by targeting the "orchestra conductor" of the immune system, a key class of T cells—CD4+ T cells—whose destructive relationship with HIV has been well-studied by AIDS researchers.
Chemotherapeutic drugs excel at fighting cancer, but they're not so efficient at getting where they need to go.
