Group Health gets $2 million to study value-based insurance

It's part of a trend to integrate care, insurance, and wellness programs and base them on research findings. The goal is to help people stay healthier and control health care costs.

Findings may lead to new vaccine strategies for pulmonary tularemia

Immunologists at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and the have found a unique quirk in the way the immune system fends off bacteria called Francisella tularensis, which could lead to vaccines that are better able to prevent tularemia infection of the lungs. Their findings were published today in the early, online version of Immunity.

Buying time increases happiness, study reveals

A study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences on 24th July 2017, suggests that spending money in buying time – like paying to hand over household works such as cleaning or cooking - is associated with increased life satisfaction.
