A University of Pennsylvania team has completed the first successful demonstration of a noninvasive optical device to monitor cerebral blood flow in patients with acute stroke, a leading cause of disability and death.

Patients with community-onset CDI have increased risk of colectomy

New study finds high mortality risks from alcohol and drug abuse among ex-prisoners

Moreover, the research shows that a substantial proportion of these deaths are from preventable causes, including accidents and suicide (42% in men and 70% in women).
