Trius prices 10,000,000 shares initial public offering

Trius Therapeutics, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company developing innovative antibiotics for serious, life-threatening infections, announced today the initial public offering of 10,000,000 shares of its common stock at a price of $5.00 per share. The common stock is expected to begin trading on the NASDAQ Global Market on August 3, 2010 under the trading symbol "TSRX." Trius has granted the underwriters a 45 day option to purchase up to 750,000 shares of its common stock at the initial public offering price to cover over-allotments, if any.

Anesthesiology: An anesthesiologist is trained to provide pain relief and maintenance, or restoration, of a stable condition during and immediately following an operation or an obstetric or diagnostic procedure. The anesthesiologist assesses the risk of the patient undergoing surgery and optimizes the patient's condition prior to, during and after surgery. In addition to these management responsibilities, the anesthesiologist provides medical management and consultation in pain management and critical care medicine.
