Updating approach to pharmacy benefits will help Florida Medicaid save $462 million

"Governor Scott is taking important steps to reduce wasteful spending in Medicaid, which is a big problem when it comes to pharmacy benefits. Because of its old-school 'fee-for-service' approach, Florida Medicaid pays drugstores much more than either Medicare or the commercial market pays them. BioVex Inc, a company developing new generation biologics for the treatment of cancer and prevention of infectious disease, announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has agreed that BioVex's ongoing OPTiM clinical study in unresectable Stage IIIb-IV melanoma be amended to include untreated (i.e., first line) patients as well as previously treated patients as defined in the original protocol.

Australian scientists develop a nasal spray that could stop SARS-CoV-2 infection

The novel product, called INNA-051, is being developed by Ena Respiratory, and laboratory experiments have shown that it reduced viral replication by as much as 96 percent in the animal study. Spearheaded by Public Health England's (PHE) Deputy Director, Professor Miles Carroll, the new study described the potential treatment and has been published in the open-source preprint server bioRxiv*.
