RyMed's InVision-Plus IV Connector decreases catheter-related bloodstream infections by 92.6%

Georgia Health Sciences University, Augusta, GA exhibited a poster at the recent 11th National Conference on Cancer Nursing Research in Los Angeles, in which their clinical study showed RyMed Technologies' zero displacement InVision-Plus® IV Connector significantly decreased the incidence of catheter-related bloodstream infections (CR-BSIs) by 92.6% on average when compared to a simple split septum with negative displacement IV connector (Becton-Dickinson Q-Syte®) and a reversed split-septum device with negative displacement IV connector (ICU Medical Clave®).

HPV-positive patients with OPSCC show higher overall survival rate than HPV-negative patients

A retrospective analysis of oropharyngeal patients with recurrence of disease after primary therapy in the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) studies 0129 or 0522 found that HPV-positive patients had a higher overall survival (OS) rate than HPV-negative patients (at two years post-treatment, 54.6 percent vs. 27.6 percent, respectively), according to research presented today at the 2014 Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Symposium.

Micromet announces presentation of updated results from MT103 Phase 2 trial in MRD positive ALL patients

Micromet, Inc. today announced the presentation of updated results from a Phase 2 trial of the Company's lead product candidate blinatumomab (MT103) in adult patients with minimal residual disease (MRD) positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). An analysis of long-term efficacy data demonstrated that blinatumomab produced prolonged remissions in patients with ALL. As of November 2010, the hematologic disease free survival (DFS) was 60%, with a follow-up of up to 27.5 months.
