GTC Biotherapeutics announces financial results for third quarter 2009

GTC Biotherapeutics, Inc.'s total net loss for the third quarter ended September 27, 2009 was $5.1 million, or $0.48 per share, compared with $6.1 million, or $0.59 per share, in the third quarter of 2008. The total net loss for the first nine months of 2009 was $26.2 million, or $2.51 per share, compared to $16.5 million, or $1.71 per share, for the first nine months of 2008.

Low-income women less likely to receive breast cancer treatment

Women with interruptions in health insurance coverage or with low income levels had a significantly increased likelihood of failing to receive breast cancer care that is in concordance with recommended treatment guidelines, according to results presented here at the Sixth AACR Conference on the Science of Cancer Health Disparities in Racial/Ethnic Minorities and the Medically Underserved, held Dec. 6-9.
