The study was conducted by the Association of Community Cancer Centers, was conducted by ACCC, with strategic research and analysis provided by Health2 Resources.

Light powered platinum more targeted and powerful than similar cancer treatments

Researchers from the Universities of Warwick, Edinburgh, Dundee and the Czech Republic's Institute of Biophysics have discovered a new light-activated platinum-based compound that is up to 80 times more powerful than other platinum-based anti-cancer drugs and which can use "light activation" to kill cancer cells in much more targeted way than similar treatments.

Avedro to acquire Corneal Collagen Crosslinking Phase III study rights from Peschke Meditrade

Avedro, Inc. today announced it has signed a definitive agreement with Swiss-based Peschke Meditrade GmbH to acquire the rights to its Phase III studies of Corneal Collagen Crosslinking for the treatment of progressive keratoconus and post LASIK ectasia. The two randomized, controlled, multi-site clinical trials are designed to assess the safety and efficacy of riboflavin/ultraviolet-A light for halting the progression of these degenerative disorders and the accompanying decline in patient's visual acuity.
