Stereotaxis today announced the installation of its first Stereotaxis Magnetic Navigation System in Taiwan at Cheng-Hsin General Hospital (CHMC) located in Taipei. CHMC hosted a Grand Opening event on January 26 that received wide coverage throughout the area and, to date, ten procedures have been successfully performed using Stereotaxis at the hospital.
University of Virginia School of Medicine researchers have discovered a new strategy for attacking cancer cells that could fundamentally alter the way doctors treat and prevent the deadly disease.
A new Phase I clinical trial conducted at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute in Los Angeles shows that two innovative treatment approaches may safely be combined to treat patients with highly aggressive, malignant brain tumors called gliomas. The results suggest that combining the two therapies might boost their effectiveness and supports the pursuit of additional studies on this approach to treating these tumors.

When taking into account the aborted candidates, the cost of developing one successful drug may even reach $1 billion, and the development process may take as long as 15-20 years.
