Long-lasting weekly fertility injections work as well as daily

New long-lasting weekly injections of fertility hormones are as safe and effective as standard daily injections, according to Cochrane researchers. The researchers compared weekly and daily hormone injections in a Cochrane systematic review and found no difference in pregnancies or serious side effects between the two regimens.

Second-generation double antibody protects from SARS-CoV-2 and its tested variants

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB; Bellinzona, Switzerland), affiliated to the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) developed a second-generation 'double antibody' that protects from SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing COVID-19, and all its tested variants. It also prevents the virus from mutating to resist the therapy.

One-third of UK doctors burned out and stressed

A detailed survey published online in the journal BMJ Open in January 2020 says that almost a third of doctors in the UK are under significant stress and burnt out. The ones most at risk are those who are posted in the emergency room and in general practice. These professionals complain of exhaustion, stress and "compassion fatigue", or a lack of satisfaction or pleasure at having completed a job well and having helped others.
