FDA clears Toshiba's patient-friendly 3T MR system

Allergan receives UK MHRA authorisation of BOTOX for prophylaxis of headache in chronic migraine

Allergan is pleased to announce that BOTOX® (botulinum toxin type A) has been licensed by the MHRA in the UK for the prophylaxis of headaches in adults who have chronic migraine (headaches on at least 15 days per month of which at least 8 days are with migraine). This is the first licence worldwide of BOTOX® for this indication, and is also the first prophylactic (preventative) treatment to receive a specific licence for patients with chronic migraine.

Matrix registry probes adherence to clopidogrel at 1 year

A large community-based registry of patients treated with drug-eluting stents is providing important insight into how long patients with complex coronary artery disease typically stick to their doctors' orders to take clopidogrel, a drug that prevents unwanted blood clots; why they stop taking the drug; and the long-term consequences of that decision.

Study: Free-range eggs may not be healthier than regular eggs

Contrary to popular belief, paying a premium price for free-range eggs may not be healthier than eating regular eggs, a new study reports. Scientists found that free-range eggs in Taiwan contain at least five times higher levels of certain pollutants than regular eggs. Their findings appear in ACS' bi-weekly Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.
