Non-invasive coronary CTA cost-effective alternative to invasive cardiac catheterization for CAD evaluation

According to a study conducted at Thomas Jefferson University (TJU), non-invasive coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) is a cost-effective alternative to invasive cardiac catheterization in the care of patients who have positive stress test results but a less than 50 percent chance of actually having significant coronary artery disease (CAD). The study will be published in the May issue of the American Journal of Roentgenology.

Elekta gets CE Mark approval for Clarity 4D Monitoring system

Elekta has received CE marking for its Clarity 4D Monitoring system permitting European clinics to implement this new way of reducing the uncertainty caused by prostate motion during radiation treatment. Aeterna Zentaris, Almac collaborate on study of AEZS-108 doxorubicin LHRH targeted conjugate compound

Aeterna Zentaris Inc., a late-stage drug development company specialized in oncology and endocrine therapy, today announced a collaborative study with Almac's Diagnostics division for the Company's doxorubicin luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) targeted conjugate compound, AEZS-108, aimed at determining LHRH receptor expression through the development of a companion diagnostic tool.

Melanomas appear as ugly ducklings!

A preliminary study suggests that melanomas have a different appearance than other irregular skin moles (i.e., are "ugly ducklings"), according to a report in the January issue of Archives of Dermatology, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.
