Immunization with either live attenuated influenza vaccine (LAIV, also known as FluMistĀ®), or trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (TIV), appears to offer a protection (~ 45%) against the novel A/H1N1 virus, the cause of the present influenza pandemic.
