Donald M. Pedersen of Salt Lake City receives AAPA's 2010 Outstanding PA of the Year Award

Donald M. Pedersen, Ph.D., PA-C, of Salt Lake City, Utah, received the American Academy of Physician Assistants' 2010 Outstanding PA of the Year Award at the organization's 38th Annual Physician Assistant Conference in Atlanta yesterday. Pedersen has shaped PA education at the University of Utah School of Medicine for more than three decades, headed the implementation of the university's Master of PA Studies degree, and pioneered the program's international clinical activities in Papua New Guinea and Thailand.

Majority of women support single woman using IVF treatment to conceive, survey finds

A recent survey of American women aged 25-45 that gauged attitudes toward In Vitro Fertilization found that 83% of these women support a single woman using IVF to conceive if she is emotionally and financially able to care for the child.

PGXL announces new contractual agreement with GH

PGXL, a Louisville-based molecular diagnostics laboratory, announced a new contractual agreement with Generation Health, Inc. The agreement makes PGXL a preferred genetic testing lab for GH. The lab will provide molecular diagnostic tests for GH, which will help physicians make therapeutic decisions and facilitate what has come to be known as "personalized medicine."
