"Young voters helped put Barack Obama in the White House, but they're not proving to be much help when it comes to the biggest push of his presidency," Politico reports. Voters aged 18 to 29 say "they're likely to support health care reform by wider margins than those in any other age range," but polling numbers and other evidence indicate "health care reform just isn't a particularly high priority for the younger crowd."
Using a combination of pluripotent stem cells (cells that can potentially produce any cell or tissue type) and machine learning (artificial intelligence that allows computers to learn automatically), researchers have improved how they generate lung cells.
Wire-bristle grill brushes are used frequently for cleaning food residue from grill grates, but loose bristles can fall off the brush during cleaning and end up in the grilled food.
In a new study posted to the bioRxiv* preprint server, researchers from the United States report that two iminosugar glucosidase inhibitors have the ability to suppress the replication of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in tissue culture – at concentrations of at least 100 times lower than required for cytotoxic effects.
