The non-governmental organization (NGO) International HIV/AIDS Alliance has released a new report in response to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria's announcement in November that "no new grants would be approved until 2014," VOA News reports.
A new technique that employs RNA, a tiny chemical cousin of DNA, to turn on genes could lead to therapeutics for conditions in which nudging a gene awake would help alleviate disease, researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center say.
National policy to change the shape of health care will be the center of discussion among the national's advocates of a primary care-based model poised to transform health care delivery. The Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC) Third Annual Summit will feature a keynote address from Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D-Pa.) concerning the national implications for the patient centered medical home (PCMH), a fundamentally improved model for providing health care.
