In a Lancet Comment discussing the WHO Global Tuberculosis report 2013 published today [Wednesday 23 October], members of the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global Tuberculosis and lead author Professor Ali Zumla from University College London sound an alarm as the growing threat of multi-drug resistant TB to regional and global health security becomes more apparent.
Researchers led by a senior investigator at Hofstra-North Shore LIJ School of Medicine and The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research have released initial findings from a first-of-a-kind clinical trial in adaptive radiotherapy (ART) for head and neck cancer.
A growing risk of outbreaks of measles, pertussis, and other vaccine-preventable diseases in countries affected by Ebola must be countered by urgent scaling up of routine immunization activities, according to the World Health Organization.
Ebola virus samples taken from patients in Liberia in June 2015 are strikingly similar in their genetic makeup to other Ebola virus sequences from Western Africa, according to research published online today in the journal Science Advances. The study sheds light on several aspects of the "flare-ups" that have occurred in Liberia since the country was initially declared free of Ebola virus disease.
