Positron emission tomography could be used to predict the response of metastatic renal cell carcinoma to tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy within a couple of weeks of a patient beginning treatment, research suggests.
Coronary angioplasty improves survival in all patients with out of hospital cardiac arrest, according to research presented at the Acute Cardiac Care Congress 2012. The study was presented by Dr Annamaria Nicolino from the Santa Corona General Hospital in Pietra Ligure, Italy.
Using a newly developed, ultrafast femtosecond infrared light source, chemists at the University of Chicago have been able to directly visualize the coordinated vibrations between hydrogen-bonded molecules - the first time this sort of chemical interaction, which is found in nature everywhere at the molecular level, has been directly visualized.
UC San Diego Health System is proud to receive the 2011 UHC Quality Leadership Award. This national award is given to academic medical centers that demonstrate excellence in delivering high-quality care as measured by the UHC Quality & Accountability Study, which has been conducted by the consortium annually since 2005.
