Ann Clock Eddins, Ph.D., director of Audiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center, will present a free talk from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at the Hahnemann Club, 201 Stoutenberg Lane, located on the campus of The Highlands at Pittsford (off of Rt. 31, just east of the village of Pittsford).
In the past year, an estimated more than one million patients were hospitalized and nearly three million visited emergency rooms in the United States as a result of asthma, according to a new comprehensive national survey.
A diabetes drug that showed promise in previous studies as an anti-cancer treatment failed to show any benefit in a UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center-led study that used pancreatic cancer tissue samples to test sensitivity to the drug.
A new study reveals that the multipotent stromal cells (MSCs) of persons with diabetes have diminished capacity to fight off bacterial infection, providing new understanding into the basis of diabetes-associated immune dysfunction.
At a major international conference in Edinburgh, Scotland, experts from around the world were given concrete proof that public smoking bans are effective when it comes to health benefits.
