Interactive video games, already known to improve motor function in recovering stroke patients, appear to safely enhance physical therapy for patients in intensive care units (ICU), new research from Johns Hopkins suggests.
Offering patients a roster of clinicians on their care team increased recognition of each clinician's name and face during their treatment period, something patients also reported as highly significant to their care, according to research presented at American College of Cardiology Quality Summit Virtual, taking place Sept. 29 – Oct. 1, 2021.
Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse, the region's only pure life sciences investment firm, and managing member of the PLSG Accelerator Fund, announced today it has made a $65,000 investment into Cohera Medical, Inc. which launches the organization into a $20 million milestone in total investments since the company's inception in 2001.
BioSante Pharmaceuticals, Inc., today announced positive safety data in its ongoing LibiGel Phase III clinical development program. For the first time, unblinded data have been reviewed by the independent DMC of the LibiGel Cardiovascular and Breast Cancer Safety Study. Based on this review of unblinded data, the DMC unanimously recommended continuation of the study as described in the study protocol, with no modifications.
Over the last couple of weeks, the coronavirus has spread to various cities in China, as well as other countries. The death toll has reached 80 while more than 2,000 people have been infected. Chine health experts warn that the ability of the virus to spread is getting stronger, warning people to become vigilant and protect themselves from contracting the illness.
