Senate health committee Chairman Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, asked four of the nations largest health insurers - Aetna, Humana, Wellpoint and UnitedHealth - to explain their pricing policies after small-business owners testified Tuesday that insurance premiums were crushing their businesses, the Des Moines Register reports.
Researchers at Lund University in Sweden believe they have identified a gene variant that can cause cerebral small vessel disease and stroke. The study is published in Neurology Genetics.
Novo Nordisk today announced that formal feedback from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding liraglutide, a once-daily human GLP-1 analogue, is expected within weeks.
Vasoproliferative ocular diseases are responsible for sight loss in millions of people in the industrialised countries.
