A majority of registered voters oppose recent efforts to scale back Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program food benefits and believe the government should be doing more to meet the needs of people facing food insecurity and other challenges, according to a new survey commissioned by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Center for a Livable Future.
A team of researchers in Japan has developed a new platform for culturing human pluripotent stem cells that provides far more control of culture conditions than previous tools by using micro and nanotechnologies.
A new study identifies six main patient-reported barriers to receiving quality end-of-life (EOL) care among ethnic minority populations. The biggest barrier is lack of sufficient financial resources and insurance, according to the article published in Journal of Palliative Medicine, a peer-reviewed journal from Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., publishers.
Concussions often are underreported by those experiencing symptoms, and most education programs assume that increased knowledge will improve that rate. But new research from the University of Georgia suggests that knowing how to report a concussion-;rather than knowing more about concussions-;is a greater factor in prompting athletes to take action.
