A University of North Carolina Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center-led study has identified genetic differences in tumors of African-Americans with the most common type of kidney cancer compared with whites.
A Detroit-area resident pleaded guilty today for her role in an infusion and injection therapy scheme to defraud Medicare, announced the Departments of Justice and Health and Human Services (HHS).
The researchers have managed to modify a type of lactose protein called β-lactoglobulin artificially by means of a treatment with pulsed light. This protein, which is present in lactose serum, is responsible for approximately 10% of milk-related allergies. As a result of this treatment, milk becomes much more digestible.
Sonomax Hearing Healthcare Inc. is pleased to announce that it has signed a five year license agreement with Hearing Coach Africa (Pty). The agreement for V3 hearing protectors specifies quarterly commitments over five years, totaling a minimum of $1,000,000. The agreement is renewable for an additional 5 years if all contractual conditions and minimum quarterly commitments are met.
The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of Health, today announced three new research initiatives studying how the design of neighbourhoods impact obesity. The studies were funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
